An in-development shooter with a mean teleport mechanic

Shoot down enemies and SPLIT through them with your teleport.

CONTROLS

  • WASD to move
  • Mouse to aim
  • Left MB to shoot primary fire
  • Tap Right MB -or- SPACE to reload (consumes ENERGY)
  • Hold Right MB -or- SPACE to charge SPLIT (requires FULL ENERGY)
  • Release Right MB -or- SPACE to SPLIT (crosshair must be fully charged - a full green diamond)

Awesome! Some thoughts:

- Juice and feel are great, though the overall screen shake made it hard to feel accurate for the first minute or two. Is there a way to convey that *impact* of a bullet shot without shaking everything on screen? On another play, I think it's the shaking of the enemies that feels weird?

- Love the interplay between shield, ammo, and splitting! Love the time slow!

- Content is good! Around 240k points I just let myself die because difficulty hadn't increased in a while and I didn't feel any pressure. Mebbe some variation in enemy tactics or new enemies that force you to change tactics?

- Music rips!!!

- This game feels ripe for high score competition. Instead of using content to raise skill cap, you could introduce mechanics to force earlier deaths. For example, make slow down a limited resource that doesn't recharge, increase enemy numbers and speeds without cap, or cap the number of shields available.

- Needs more frog

Def going to make some updates so I'll keep this in mind

so i have an idea


an upgrade system (inspired by roguelites)


for example one upgrade increses energy regain.

another example is a shield that recharges (aka Health)

there also might be a possibillty for spaceships with unique abilites (aka split triggers)

for example one doesnt increse danage but wrather turns its gun into a SHOTGUN.

the types of ships for the player ideas:


One that has a melee weapon (For players that played ULTRAKILL)

one that has a railgun (For players that prefer to snipe players in PVP games)

one that has drones (for those that played RTS's before)

one that has the basic weapon (Most basic spaceship. also has teleportation too)

one that has a minigun (obtained for beating the game. is also quite slow)

These are some fun ideas. 

Yeah I definitely have some things I would like to try with the combat and systems. Have a couple different directions I might explore so we'll see what happens! 

also there may be a possibility to extend the gameplay.

it starts off easy (on the first level)

but it progressively gets harder

LV 1. Sector Alpha

LV 2. Sector Beta

LV 3. Sector Gamma

LV 4. Sector Delta (the level before the final boss of The GAME)

LV 5. Sector Omega (Has the final boss.)
